After a trying winter, the cruise season is open. I have laid out a plan to do as many cruises as I can. Taking Gibbs with me is a given. Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.

Added a new set of wheels to the fleet. I am at that point in life where I have to buy myself gifts to make sure I get what I want. Well I wanted a 2003 SVT Cobra 10th Anniversary convertible. Found one with 10K on the clock. It was delivered from Florida on December 26th. At the beginning of what would be the first of many heavy snowfalls.

Got some seat time in the car. What a buggy it is. Sun glaring off my dome and tunes blasting. Doesn’t get any better than than. A great ride to take Gibbs orders to be shipped.

Keep your car's engine clean and protected by using Gibbs Brand lubricant. Watch this video for a step-by-step tutorial about how to use it!

Every car owner can tell you how important it is to regularly maintain your vehicle. Without standard upkeep, smaller and less-noticeable problems can surface and if not attended to, can get worse. One of the best ways to prevent this is to use Gibbs Brand lubricant to protect your car’s engine components.

If I had to pick my favorite thing about Gibbs, it would probably be the product’s versatility. It has so many uses. It can be used to waterproof, protect, clean, lubricate and more. All of this comes into play when using Gibbs to clean and protect your automobile.

Another advantage is how easy Gibbs is to use and apply. In the video below, I show you just how easy it is to keep your engine clean and protected, which is especially important during the winter months here in Michigan.

The most important thing for you to remember when applying Gibbs to a car engine, though, is to make sure the car is completely cooled off. Gibbs is very flammable and if your car is still hot, it could potentially catch fire. Also, don’t be alarmed if a small amount of smoke appears after you start the car for the first time post-application. This is standard and is just some of the residue burning off the engine. I recommend applying Gibbs to your engine about every six months to get the best results.

If you have questions about Gibbs, how it’s used or how to buy it, please don’t hesitate to contact me or leave me a comment below!

Getting ready to paint some metal parts? Before you do, you might want to use Gibbs to clean and protect it beforehand!

Do you have metal parts that need to be cleaned and prepped before you begin painting them? Using Gibbs Brand Lubricant is one of the best ways to do just that.

Unlike many other lubricants and oils, Gibbs can be painted over once it has dried. In the video below, I explain how to properly prepare and treat a metal bracket with Gibbs before painting. One of the things you’ll want to keep in mind when prepping metal is to not apply too much Gibbs. Like any lubricant, if you add an excessive amount, it will take longer to dry and could delay your painting process.

Being a corrosion inhibitor, Gibbs will not only clean the metal, but will also protect it from the elements in the future. To this day, I have not found a product as good at keeping my metal components, whether they’re car parts, tools or other items clean and protected.

Any gun owner will tell you that keeping your firearm clean and well-maintained is absolutely essential. Not only does regular maintenance keep your gun working properly, but it’s also crucial for the safety of the shooter and those around him. This is actually one of the most popular uses for Gibbs Brand lubricant and I can tell you personally that there isn’t another product that works as well as Gibbs does.

Watch the video below featuring my friend Joe to learn how to use Gibbs to properly clean a five-shot revolver. Joe will take you step-by-step through the cleaning process and you’ll notice that he takes great care and precision while he works, making sure that the gun is both clean and well-lubricated.

If you have questions about how to use Gibbs to clean your firearm or are curious about how else this product can be used, feel free to contact me today.
Took my grandson with me on a cruise to Bakers of Milford. The car ran supurb. I have no complaints at all. The new carb from Mike Riemenschneider has made all the difference in the world. It starts with the flick of the key and runs fantastic.

I was somewhat surprised by the interest the car received at Bakers. There was a steady crowd around the car all afternoon. I would field questions about the blower, body, paint and on and on. Talked to some very nice people. Some folks were suprised to find out that the Paxton could be ordered over the counter or the dealer could intall it for the customer. I talked about the low number of cars that came out of the Shelby facility with the Paxton installed.

Talked about Gibbs with the folks also. Ran into some prior customers and was able to provide them with product.

A very nice day with the grandson. He had a great time and can’t wait for the next time we go. The first thing he said when we parked was – are we going to eat now. He really likes the food at Bakers. For that matter so do I. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Good cars, friends, food and with my grandson.

Took a trip to Indy for the MCI show Race to Indy. It was held at the Lucas Motor Speedway. The brutal weather may have impacted the attendance and swap vendors. It did not impact the fun level. Had a fantastic time. Took the 2011 GT500 and the 66 GT350 Clone. The best item I took was my 11 year old grandson. He had a blast. It was his first major show other than local cruise ins. He has made me promise that I would take him next year. He liked the fact that he got to ride in the GT500 at 100 MPH on the oval track. Also got to watch drag racing at a location he has watched many time on TV. His father is a gear head. For that matter so is his mother, my daughter.

We took in the Pony Ride. The interesting thing with going on it was that was the first time I drove the car any distance. I had completed putting the engine back together on Wednesday night and we left Thursday morning for Indy. What a way to do a shake down run. We did a 150 mile cruise through the lovely country side outside of Indy. The car ran FANTASTIC. Not that I wasn’t nervous. But in a long line of Mustang gear heads I felt that if something did go wrong I was in good company.

Meet some great people and am planning for the show next year. Got to talk Gibbs with the people. I may well set up with my Gibbs display at the show next year. Had a great deal of interest in the product.

The passing of Carrol Shelby is leaving a big hole in the collective hearts of his family of friends and supporters. On May 30 a memorial was held around the world in his memory. I was lucky to attend the celebration of Carrol’s life at the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn Michigan.

There was a great group of cars representing the Shelby marque. We were invited into the theater to watch the web cast of activies taking place at the Peterson Museum. There was a continous roll of photos of Carrol doing what he was known for. Being around race cars and race courses. A nice tribute to his memeory.

We were all invited to return to our vehicles. At 9:54 EST we observed a minute of silence to reflect on what Carrol meant to each of us. At 9:55 EST the comand was given to “START YOUR ENGINES”. We were all treated to almost one full minute of the sweetest music known to any gear head. I don’t think anyone could guess the number of horses that roared at 9:55 EST. I bounced my 550 HP off the rev limiter a couple times. The roar was truly an experience not to be forgotten.

Oh Boy, now the fun has started. Putting it all back together. Sure came apart easy. Thank goodness I took a lot of photos. Work till I need some direction from the photo library. Figure out how it goes back together and hit it hard till the next question. This is the result of taking something apart months ago and expecting the old pea brain to remember how it goes together. Long term memory is remembering what I had for lunch today.

When it is done the under hood will have a whole new look. I am trying to put it together as it would have been in 66 if it were the real deal.

Speaking of real deal. The Gibbs product is going on everything that is being reassembled. Also using it for a cleaning solution on parts that need some grime removed.

Could not resist the temptation any longer. Had to break out the wrenches and put my touch on the 66. I am having a ball working on the car. Took the front seats to Jeff at National Parts Depot in Canton Michigan for a complete makeover. I thought they looked great as they were. Now they look like they did in ’66. He used all the NPD available items on the seats. Foam, covers, dog legs and the complete kit. Fantastic products and a supurb outcome. Can’t wait to put them in the car and row through the gears.

You know how it goes. You start on one thing and it just keeps going. Opened the hood. That was the first step in a long line of updates and check outs. Speaking of out. Out came the carb, carb box, Paxton blower, radiator, valve covers and all attending hardware.

Sent the blower unit to Craig Conley at Paradise Wheels Inc. He took over the Paxton service when Paxton went to their new system. He will check it out and report back on his findings. Figured it would be best to do this now and make sure it is good to go for the upcoming cruise season.

Opened the blower box and found a Barry Grant Mighty Demon 650 carb. WOW, is that thing shiney. 650 cfm and a double pumper. True performance carb.

Pulled the radiator to get it boiled out. After thinking about it I felt a three core unit from NPD would fit the bill. Picked up a three core radiator from them along with a few other items. Got a Mustang Projects LED brake light kit. Also got a front LED kit at NPD. New upper and lower radiator hoses and clamp kit were on the list. That is just some of the items that I picked up for the ’66. Now I will really have fun putting them in.

This is what I enjoy. Putting my touch on a car. Sometimes the touch is a little heavy handed. Usually I like to think that I am improving on perfection, if that is possible. I have enjoyed this part of the hobby for years and I am in my zone doing this.

While doing all this improving my favorite and only oil that I use – Gibbs was on the job. Everything was removed with help from Gibbs and all will go back together with help from Gibbs. The secret weapon in any mechanics tool box – GIBBS.
